Sahid Kazi

Sahid Kazi

Sahid Kazi is a visual artist whose practice reflects both the depth of Bangladeshi tradition and the breadth of global contemporary art. Born in Munshiganj and now based in Dhaka, he is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka, where he also completed his BFA and MFA in Drawing & Painting.

Kazi’s art explores the dynamic relationship between cultural identity, memory, and modern experience. Through bold compositions and experimental approaches, he creates work that moves fluidly between local narratives and international dialogues, sparking conversations that cross borders.

His career has been recognized with numerous national and international honors, including awards from the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, the Berger Young Painters Award, and the Royal Over-Seas League Visual Art Scholarship in the UK. His work has been exhibited widely across Asia, Europe, and beyond.

Balancing the roles of artist and educator, Sahid Kazi continues to shape the next generation of Bangladeshi artists while pursuing a practice that bridges tradition and innovation, personal history and global vision.
